OPTIMOL EYE DROPS

Composition:
Optimol® is a sterile topical solution for ophthalmic use. Each 100 mL contains Timolol (as maleate) 0.5g in sterile buffered isotonic solution with Benzalkonium Chloride as preservative.

Clinical Pharmacology:
Optimol® is a beta-1 and beta-2 adrenergic blocking agent which lowers the intraocular pressure by reducing the  aqueous humor production.

Indications:
Optimol ® is indicated in the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma. It reduces intraocular pressure with little or no effect on accommodation or pupil size. Thus, change in visual acuity and blurred vision is not evident.

Dosage and Administration:
Usual adult and adolescent dose: Instill 1 drop 1 or 2 times a day.
Children 10 years of age and older: Sea usual adult and adolescent dose.
